Luxury French Bakery Ladurée Arrives in Miami

If you’ve been living under a rock for the past ten years, then you may not have realized that French luxury dessert maker Ladurée has been the much anticipated opening on Miami Beach’s Lincoln Road. Well, my fellow macaron lovers, it’s finally open! Established in 1862, the iconic sweets maker houses only the most delicious macarons known to man (or woman).

Ladurée also houses store locations in Japan, Monoco, Switzerland, Brazil, Australia, New York, Ireland, Hong Kong, to name a few. The brand recently collaborated with jewelry designer Marie-Hélène de Taillac in developing sets of fashion macarons and Marie-Hélène de Taillac-inspired window installations through various stores.

Ladurée is also well-known for its cameo appearance in the film Marie Antoinette (the teal macaron is named after the film), CW’s Gossip Girl, and collaborations with Christian Louboutin and Marni.

After being taken over by the PAUL bakery chain, Ladurée developed into a global chain of pastry shops and/or tea rooms with the best tasting macarons in the world. Although, the macarons from their Madison Avenue location in New York City seem to taste better than Ladurée’s Miami bakery.

Body Action Activewear + Love Grace

Many of the questions that I am asked often have to do with my fitness regimen or detoxification process. Sometimes my close friends or family think that I overdo it with my workouts, but it ultimately makes me feel better and stay conscious about what I put into my body in the long run. The Black One-Piece

Valentine’s Day is approaching, which means the anticipated question of “what should I wear” pops up. Although the standard red and pink attire is holiday appropriate, a chic alternative is to opt for a black one-piece or romper. I picked up this one-piece from H&M and I love the fit because it fits loosely while it’s still a little sexy with its deep side plunge at the arm openings. This particular look can be worn as is or throw on a sequin blazer to glam it up a bit for the evening. Another option would be to rock it during the day with a floral blazer and boots to make it suitable for the workplace or school.

To add a chic element to the overall look, I’ve paired the one-piece with a gold hardware necklace and Kate Spade bracelet that clasps at the front for a feminine touch. The two-toned BCBG heels give it an elegant look that polishes off the outfit and gives the look some height.

Falling for Plaid

First of all, I have to apologize for the delay in blog posting but I was recently in New York for a brief trip and had some technical difficulties. However, I flew back to Miami (and yes, I am blogging at 1:25 AM) and the first thing that I needed to do was post an outfit of the day for you all. Despite the atrocious reputation the plaid pattern has had in the past, it’s been quite the trend for the fall/winter season and I’ve slowly developed a love for the print.

It’s one of those patterns that can be diversified by rocking it casually with a blazer and jeans or even dressed down with leather sweatpants. Surprisingly enough, there are a number of ways to style a plaid shirt other than throwing it on in the hopes of looking like a lumberjack.

To give this a classic look, I paired it with an oversized camel tote and polished it off by adding a thick cuff at the bottom of my jeans. For an effortless feel, I like to roll up my sleeves of blazers or blouses.

OOTD: Hello, Goodbye Summer

Happy Monday everyone! As we are all recovering from New York Fashion Week and starting off the new week, I thought I would share this outfit of the day which is one of my favorites on a hot Miami day. Although it’s cooling down in other areas, Miami seems to remain warm and humid (my hair is loving it of course). When it’s really hot outside, I tend to throw my hair up in a chic bun to keep it off my neck. If you have thick hair, as I do, this is the perfect way to stay cool from head to toe!

A simple way to create a look that is both comfortable and weather-appropriate is to pair some colorful shorts with a basic white tank top. I’ve also added open-toed platform sandals in a coral shade which complements the shorts. New Video! How to: Transform Summer to Fall Pieces

Although the season is changing, that doesn’t mean your entire wardrobe has to! One of my tricks for keeping summer items around for the upcoming season is to layer pieces and learn to complement them well. There are some pieces in my closet that I find work well in all seasons. It’s all about pairing them together with other season-friendly items (and of course you don’t want to rock your Summer bikini in the Fall).

For example, keeping brightly colored tops, dresses, skirts, or even shorts around in the upcoming season can easily be achieved by adding layers. I love the jewel tone trend this season; however, my heart will always be with pops of color as well. I’m also loving the mixing of patterns for this season.
